There are a few things in this life that make me truly happy: a child’s laughter, a genuine hug, a cup of tea shared with a friend, being with my family, and cooking up something I know someone enjoys. White Lasagna with Parmigiano Besciamella:
3/4 c. shallots (thinly sliced),
1 stick unsalted butter,
1/2 c. flour,
2 cloves garlic (finely chopped),
1/2 tsp. grated nutmeg,
1 c. chicken stock or broth,
3 3/4 c. whole milk,
2 large eggs (lightly beaten),
1/2 c. Marsala or dry red wine,
1/2 tsp. kosher or sea salt,
1/2 tsp. pepper,
dash of red pepper flakes,
1/4 lb. grated Parmigiano-Reggiano (divided),
